DMCTE holds get-together

An annual get-together function organi-sed by DM College of Teacher Education was held today at the College Hall with Labour and Employment I Hemo-chandra gracing the occasion as the chief guest and Principal of the event host H Ibomcha Sharma as the functional president.
speaking at the occasion, Hemochandra, who also hold the PHE portfolio, noted that large number of State natives studying or working in other Indian cities came to the fore during the recent incidents of miscreants targeting people from the North East region.
The Minister also construed that the exodus of NE people, including many from Manipur from these cities, and subsequent appeal by Government representatives of some State urging Manipuris to return to their respective place of work or study is an indication of the human resource potential in Manipur.
With regard to the DM College of Teacher Education currently extending training to teacher aspirants with a total strength of 92 faculties, he assured that shortage of faculty members being faced by the College would be intimated to the Education Minister for necessary measures.
If needed the said issue and other infrastructure inadequacies would be placed before the State Cabinet for swift action, affirmed Hemochandra, who also prevailed upon to both the faculty members and the trainee teachers to strive for promoting quality education in the State.
In his brief comment, Principal H Ibomcha highlighted that since establishment of the College in 1972 a number of teachers have been produced from the institutions.
For ensuring all-round development in the education sector of Manipur institutions such as DMC of Teacher Education should not face any problem on requisite infrastructure, he said.
Distribution of prizes and entertainment programmes were also organised at the occasion.
