Imphal, May 28 2011:
The proscribed UNLF has denounced the deliberate act of fled away cadres participating in 'surrender dramas' being enacted by Assam Rifles and Police.
Acknowledging that UNLF/MPA Pt Ningthoujam Ibotomba alias Konthou s/o N Ranjit of Kakching Chumlang was among the 10 people who took part in the 'surrender drama' enacted by IG AR (S) Maj Gen CA Krishnan and ADGP V Zathang, the outfit pointed out certain incompatibility in the details of Konthou.
According to the outfit's enrolment register, his name is Pte Ningthoujam Robinson alias Konthou s/o Ningthoujam Tomba and Ibeni of Keirak Chingkheihunba Mamang Leikai.
He left to meet his family members on March 9 this year in civilian dress without any weapons though he was seen wielding one M 16 rifle during the 'surrender drama' .
The UNLF did not mind much when Konthou fled away on the pretext of meeting his family.
But the outfit cannot take it any lightly as he and his family willingly took part in the surrender drama by holding the weapon given by security forces.
It was tantamount to selling off the liberation movement of the mass to the enemy forces, the proscribed outfit said in a press release issued by its senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba.
