Imphal, November 19 2009: Taking serious note of the incident of November 16 night wherein commando personnel intruded into DM College campus and allegedly harassed some of the hostellers, the Senior SP of Imphal West District L Kailun has appealed to the people to always note down the serial number or the registration number of vehicles used by the district police so as to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

In a statement, the SSP informed that in addition to the vehicle registration numbers, the district police vehicles are all numbered, for instance No.1 CDO/IW, No.2/IW, No.1 OC/Imphal PS, No I RL/IW (Reserve Line, Imphal West).

The SSP requested the public to note down the serial nos or registration nos of the vehicles in case of any harassment/compliant against the police personnel for easy identification.

The district police can also be contacted round the clock on telephone nos 2450214/9206195950 (SP, Imphal West Control Room), 2450159/9436026263 (Sr SP, Imphal West), 2449975/9436038404 (Addl SP Law and Order, Imphal West), 2450610/9436023018 (Addl SP Ops, Imphal West), 2450580/9856161267 (SDPO, Imphal West) and 2421135/9862626595 (OC/ CDO Imphal West), the SSP informed.
