Imphal, March 05 2009:: The BJP has kicked off a widespread campaign to woo voters for its Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency candidate. BJP has already announced former Chief Minister W Nipamacha Singh as its candidate in the Inner Parliamentary Constituency.

" A set of thirty workers comprising ten each from Yuva Morch, Mahila Morcha and Parental wing of our party have begun a systematic local level campaign across the valley districts since Wednesday for our candidate Oja ( Guru) Nipamacha ," said L Basanta Sharma, co-convener of State unit BJP's media cell.

The campaign will continue till a new campaign strategy would be chalked out in a meeting scheduled on Saturday at the party's Imphal head office, Basanta said while iterating that the party's Prime Ministerial candidate LK Advani will visit Manipur in the last week of the current month.

He said the party will decide its candidate for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary seat within the current week as hectic review of ten aspirants, who sought the party's ticket, was on.

The Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency that covers the five hill districts of Senapati , Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Churachandpur and Chandel and seven assembly segments of Thoubal district will go to the polls on April 16, while people of Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat will vote on April 22.
