Refusal to comply with her normal intake of five nasal feeding a day is said to have resulted in hunger striker Irom Sharmila Chanu's health nose-diving for the worst with doctors at the JN Hospital not only put in a perilous situation in ensuring the anti AFSPA crusader stay healthy but having to work overtime to convince her resume the dietary schedules.
In denouncing the December 17 bomb blast at Pourabi that killed and maimed several civilians, Sharmila Chanu who began her fasting seven years back had been refusing her daily dose of five nasal feeding for about a forthnight now.
As per comments of JN Hospital's medical Superintendent Dr W Motilal Singh doctors and other health staff are gravely concerned with the rapidly deteriorating health condition of Sharmila and said, "Our doctors and nurses are attending to her round the clock besides trying to convince her stick to the prescribed treatment procedures".
He also stated that inspite of the medical personnel yet to detect any complications pertaining to her health, a decision will be taken on steps to ensure her good health.
On the otherhand, nurses attending to Sharmila Chanu at the hospital's security ward informed that she had been refusing the five-times a day routine since December 24 night.
Significantly, Sharmila is said to be continuing with her daily yoga rigours and morning walk inside the hospital premises.
Meanwhile, the human rights upholder's brother I Singhajit maintained, "We don't mind any step taken by her.
My mother had already given her blessings to her (Sharmila) when she launched the campaign against the controversial Act".
