Former vice-chairperson, of IMC Komlatombi killed

Imphal, September 27: Former vice-chairperson of Imphal Municipal Council Ningombam ongbi Komlatombi (47) w/o late Binoy of Soibam Leikai Mary Leirak under Porompat police station was shot dead at her residence by some unidentified gunmen at about 6.35 pm today.

According to information received from the spot, three unidentified persons came to the residence of Komlatombi in a Santro car at about 6.30 pm.

When they entered the house, Komlatombi was having meal together with her children in kitchen.

Ordering Komlatombi to come out for a talk, the gunmen opened fire at the same time killing the former IMC vice-chairperson on the spot.

She was hit by one bullet each in the mouth and left shoulder.

Police recovered two spent bullets of 9 mm and two live rounds from the spot.

Police have picked up the body and deposited the same at RIMS mortuary.

It is reported that Komlatombi's daughter Naobi (18) was also treated at JN Hospital as she too suffered injuries in leg in the firing.

It may be mentioned here that Senjam Bikram (36) s/o Dhananjoy of Nongren Awang Leikai shot dead on August 18 by a combined team of Imphal East police commandos and troops of 32 AR at Yubraj Palli under Irilbung police station was reportedly picked up from the residence of Komlatombi before he was done to death.
