The third edition of the TAPRO beauty pageant will see twenty-three aspirants vying for top honours. The countdown has commenced on Sunday 21st Nov 2003 with a social service programme at Kekrupat. The grand finale is scheduled at the Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre, BOAT, on November 14. The web edition powered by e-pao.net will run a web poll to select the Internet Queen. Six subtitles besides the main titles will be selected on November 8 and 9 at Premi House, Keishampat. This year's winner of the Miss TAPRO crown will take home Rs 20,000 while the first and second runners-up will be getting Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Six sub-titles winners will get richer by Rs 5,000 each.

President of TAPRO, highlighting the objectives and achievements of the contest, stated that it had helped in the personal development of the participants and opened avenues for them in the field of modeling. This time, the competition will adopt the norms followed in the Miss Femina contest and if the new arrangement clicks, there will be better career scopes for the contestants, he added. TAPRO has already established links with modeling firms outside the state and many past winners have reaped the benefits of the tie-ups, he informed.
