AR Archery competition concludes

The Inter Club Archery Competition organised by 28 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) in conjunction with Manipur Archery Association concluded today at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.
The competition was organised in three categories viz - Recurve, Compound and Indian round.
A total of 65 archers from 10 Clubs of Manipur Archery Association participated in the competition.
In Indian Round, Biswajit of Assam Rifle Archery Team secured first position and G Gaibidang of Vikas Archery Club came at second position.
In Compound Round, E Ramakant of Sports Association of India Archery Club emerged at the first position and Kishan Kant Singh of Eastern Sporting Union at second position.
In Recurve Round, Havildar Subash Chandra of Assam Rifle Archery team won the first position and Ramanand Singh of Sports Association of India Archery Team came at second position.
In a very keenly contest event, the overall team champion's title was won by Assam Rifle Archery Team with Friends Archery club securing the second position.
Brig Navneet Kumar, Commander HQ 9 Sector Assam Rifle graced the occasion as chief guest alongwith various civil dignitaries and members of Manipur Archery Association.
He distributed the prizes to the winner archers of various club.
Speaking on the occasion, he reiterated the role of Manipur in various games at National and International level.
He also said that the tournament was organised with an aim to provide suitable platform and exposure to the young budding talents of the state.
The tournament has provided an opportunity to the young archers from the remote area of the state to showcase their talent and learn about the latest technology being introduced in the game.
Few good players from various clubs were also selected and they will be sponsored for further training to improve their skills by the Assam Rifles, said Brig Navneet Kumar.
