Imphal, December 15 2009: The 14th Sub-Junior, 15th Junior and 16th Senior State Level Weightlifting Championships, 2009 organised by the Manipur Weightlifting Association has commenced today at GM Hall, Imhal.

N Shyamananda, IPS, Managing Director, Manipur Police Housing Corporation and President, Manipur Handball Association graced the opening ceremony as chief guest.

Ng Rastrapati, President, Manipur Weightlifting Association presided over the function.

M Lokendro, Chief Engineer, PWD and Ng Romi, International Weightlifter, DSP, CRPF also attended the opening function as guests of honour.

The championships has been scheduled to conclude tomorrow here.

In today's events, S Mirabai of NISA stood first in 44 kg sub junior women's event.

She lifted 110 kg in total with 50 in snatch and 60 in jerk.

Y Surmila of NESU was in the second place with 67 lift.

She lifted 30 kg in snatch and 37 in jerk.

Kh Sanjita of SAI-SAG won the first place in sub junior women's 48 kg category with a total lift of 145 kg.

She lifted 65 kg in snatch and 80 kg in jerk.

M Purnima of UPC stood second with a total lift of 117 kg.

She lifted 51 kg in snatch and 66 kg in jerk.

A Indubala of HLYC was in the third place with a total lift of 109 kg.

She lifted 49 kg in snatch and 60 kg in jerk.

N Sumanbala of SAI-SAG stood first in sub-junior women's 53 kg category with a 152 kg total lift, 68 in snatch and 84 in jerk.

Kh Bidyabati of SAI SAG won the second place with a 149 kg total lift, 66 in snatch and 83 in jerk.

Kh Nungshitombi of NLYC was in the third place with a 93 kg total lift, 43 in snatch and 50 in jerk.

In sub-junior men's 50 kg category, L Ajit of SAI SAG stood first with a total lift of 158 kg.

He lifted 70 kg in snatch and 88 kg in jerk.

L Paikhomba of UYO won the second place with a total lift of 125 kg.

He lifted up 53 kg in snatch and 72 kg in jerk.

N Surjit of NLYC was in the third place with a total lift of 95 kg.

He lifted 45 kg in snatch and 50 kg in jerk.

M Menjor of NLYC stoof first in sub-junior men's 56 kg category with a total lift of 190 kg.

He lifted 80 kg in snatch and 110 kg in jerk.

Kh Jojo of NYC was in the second place with a total lift of 100 kg.

He lifted 40 kg in snatch and 60 kg in jerk.

O Jesikanta of NYC was in the third place with a total lift of 80 kg.

He lifted 40 kg each in snatch and jerk.

P Deepak of SAI won the first place in sub-junior men's 62 kg category with a total lift of 198 kg.

He lifted 83 kg in snatch and 115 kg in jerk.

Ng Pradip of UYO was in the second place with a total lift of 185 kg.

He lifted 85 kg in snatch and 100 kg in jerk.

Kh Santosh of NESU was in the third place with a total lift of 178 kg.

He lifted 78 kg in snatch and 100 kg in jerk.

Th Nishila of MGM stood first in sub junior women's 58 kg category with a total lift of 120 kg.

She lifted 55 kg in snatch and 65 kg in jerk.

PS Hrington Anal of UPC was in the second place with a total lift of 112 kg.

She lifted 48 kg in snatch and 64 kg in jerk.

L Purnima UYC stood first in sub-junior women's 63 kg category with a total lift of 141 kg.

She lifted 65 kg in snatch and 76 kg in jemrk.

YM Nafisa of MGM was in the second place with a total lift of 115 kg.

She lifted 50 kg in snatch and 65 kg in jerk.

H Anandi of UPC was in the third place with a total lift of 97 kg.

She lifted 42 kg in snatch and 55 kg in jerk.

S Jenetabi of UYO stood first in sub-junior women's 69 kg category with a total lift of 138 kg.

She lifted 60 kg in snatch and 78 kg in jerk.

Sh Sonalia of UPC was in the second place with a total lift of 90 kg.

She lifted 40 kg in snatch and 50 kg in jerk.

In sub-junior women's 69+ kg category, Y Leirentombi of KHYSO won first place with a total lift 138 kg.

She lifted 60 kg in snatch and 78 kg in jerk.

S Geeta of MGM was in the second place with a total lift of 113 kg.

She lifted 50 kg in snatch and 63 kg in jerk.

Th Memicmha of NISA stood first in senior women's 69 kg category with a total lift of 170 kg.

She lifted 77 kg in snatch and 93 kg in jerk.

W Khomdonbi of SAI-RC was in the second place with a total lift of 168 kg.

She lifted 72 kg in snatch and 96 kg in jerk.

O Geeta of UYO was in the third place with a total lift of 163 kg.

She lifted 73 kg in snatch and 90 kg in jerk.
