Imphal, April 08:
Following up on the good work of the bowlers Model Club, Chingamkha cruised to a nine wicket win over MPSC in the 3rd Rommel Trophy 2004 Cricket tournament at THAU Sports Complex today.
MPSC's decision to bat first on winning the toss backfired as all its batsmen were scuttled out for a miserable 64 with over 12 overs still left in the 40 over match.
Chinglensana ripped through the MPSC batting line-up claiming three wickets off seven overs while Rajesh accounted for two of the opponent victims.
Only Y Jillangamba and Surjit could withstand the fiery Model bowling scoring 21 (40) and 16 (28) runs respectively.
In reply, Model knocked off the required runs in just 10 overs as Nishikanta (33) and S Tomba (16) laid the foundation for the other batsmen to overhaul the target with ease.
Chinglensana and Nishikanta were jointly declared man of the match.
