An extra-time goal from Dangmei Grace ensured a fifth title for Manipur out of six editions of the Sub Junior Girls National Football Championship that concluded at Haldwani, Uttarakhand today.
with neither of the arch rivals able to change the scoreline at the end of normal period in the evenly contested final, Gangmei Grace finally broke the deadlock in the 3rd minute of additional period to fetch third consecutive crown.
Manipur and Orrisa had been facing off in the finals of the championship since its inception in 2003 .
Orissa won the third edition held at Chandigarh in 2006 .
Meanwhile, the same opponents would also feature in the final of the 1st All India Senior Women's football Championship for Prem Dorjee Trophy at Gangtok, Sikkim on october 15 .
In semifinal matches played today, Manipur edged out West Bengal by a solitary goal scored by Ph Bina Devi in the 65th minute while the Orissa eves humbled host Sikkim 3-0 .
