General strike postponed

Imphal, April 15 2011:
The proposed 24-hour general strike called by the All Manipur DPC Faced Candidates' Association for Primary, Hindi Primary, and Graduate Teachers 2006, effective from midnight tonight, has been postponed.
Announcing the postponement, spokesperson M Rajendro of the association, in a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Major Khul, said that it has been postponed following an agreement with the Education minister in a talk with representatives of the association.
He, however, did not elaborate on what was arrived at in the talks.
The spokesperson said the association will cease to exist after the government made clear the result of the DPC recalling that the association was set up with the objective of getting justice in the controversy that arose in the declaration of the DPC result.
