Imphal, December 12 2013:
Even as the festive Christmas season surges with anticipation, the Government of Manipur has yet devised a craft to spoil the spirit of the employees on the pretext that IAS, MCS and other employees have not updated their details in MGEL, lamented FATYCM.
According to the Federation of All Tribal Youth Council, Manipur, this can be viewed as a matter of serious concern among the Christian populace in Manipur whose major occasion and celebration of Christmas has been frequently interrupted.
"Updating and maintaining MGEL amongst the employees cannot be deliberately failed by the present incumbent employees alone.
It is highly questionable as to why such misdemeanor of denying salaries on the pretext of not updating MGEL is imponderable targeting employees of a particular tenure," the tribal youth body said.
"This is unprecedented and can be turned as heavily biased and prejudiced on the part of the Government of Manipur buttressed by frequent tinges and communal and religious intolerance factors," FATYCM stated.
The Government of Manipur is advised to release the salaries of those employees with immediate effect henceforth in the interest of the public and the festive Christmas celebration which is observed worldwide with hope and expectations.
Manipur being an Indian state, it is highly called for that secularism enshrined in the Indian Constitution is well read, respected and revered in this small state too, FATYCM added.
