Widespread prevalence of Malaria has been reported at Harmontlang village under Samulamlan Block in Churachandpur district even as the disease has claimed a live today.
Ngultinkhuol (14), son of Pasat of Harmontlang village has died of Malaria today at RIMS hospital here.
According to villagers, several other villagers have also been suffering from the disease needing urgent attention from the concerned authority.
Sounding the alarm note, the village youth club secretary, Tontana Kom, informed that several other villagers have also been admitted at hospitals in Moirang, Churachandpur and RIMS here.
Three of them are said to be in serious condition.
Apart from them, some children suffering from the disease are treated at their homes in the village.
The 35 households' village, around 3 kilometres West of Moirang police station, is tackling the menace barehanded though helplessly.
Drawing immediate attention of the concerned authority, villagers are struck with panic as the lives of several vulnerable patients have been hanging in thin rope.
