Imphal, Jun 20: The identities of the two persons killed by Imphal West police commandos at Samurou Maning Leikai during an encounter yesterday have been established today.The bodies have been handed over to their respective family members after post mortem at RIMS morgue today.

The two are identified as Khundrakpam Brojen alias Tomba alias Ingel (37) of Leimapokpam Awang Leikai under Nambol PS and Brahmacharimayum Rameshore (37) of Tourangbam Leikai.

Family members said that Brojen left home some years back and they later learnt that he had joined the PLA and was a Sgt Maj of the outfit.

He was arrested thrice earlier by the police and the last time he was arrested was about three years back, said family members.

Rameshore's family members said that he was Brahmin cook who also plays the conch to supplement his income.

They maintained that they do not know of his association with any underground outfits.
