Imphal, December 27 2010:
Taking serious note of the slow progress of the development work on NH 53, the Transporters' and Drivers' Council appealed to the BRTF authorities to keep their promise of repairing the road stretch by February 2011 .
The council also appealed to the authorities to allow them to use the completed bridge at Leingangpokpi so as to avoid the frequent inconveniences faced by them.
The council also urged the state government not to force them to ply on NH 39 .
It further stated, that if the State Government forces them or makes it mandatory for them to ply on NH 39, the council will stop their services on NH 53 also.
