Imphal, March 23:
The Kuki National Army has claimed the responsibility of eliminating one Siembol alias Calvin for tarnishing the image of the outfit by collecting huge amount of money from the public in its name.
In a statement, KNA said that after a thorough probe it was confirmed that Siembol had collected Rs 5.30 lakhs from one Brojen and Rs 7.4 lakhs from one Gojen of Kakching in the name of the outfit.
He also took money by giving false promises that they would be provided jobs.
Siembol was earlier warned, but he did not heed the warnings, said KNA.
The outfit also clarified that any money taken by Siembol was on his own accord and had nothing to do with KNA.
