The Manorama Death Inquiry Commission today recorded the statement of Dr S Joychandra Singh, ballistic expert and Additional Director of State Forensic Science Laboratory Pangei.
Giving his statement on the post mortem report and report of his visit to the spot where Manorama was found, he opined that almost all the bullets were fired from the right side of her back while the victim was possibly in bending, standing, running or in prone position.
Referring to one injury mark on the victim, he opined that the victim might have been shot by a person who was standing on the same ground level while the victim was possibly kneeling, partially falling forward or in a prone position.
The effective range of AK 47 Rifles is 300 metres and the diameter of a bullet of the same weapon is about 7.62 mm, he testified.
