Imphal, July 18:
The Secretary of the State Assembly has issued a notification that if any of the MLAs cannot vote at their State headquarters or Parliament due to compelling reasons then they need to seek the permission of the EC 96 hours before start of the polls.
The notification said that in normal circumstances, an MLA cannot vote at any other State headquarters other than their own State or Parliament in the Presidential election.
However due to compelling reasons if any MLAs are outside their State and cannot cast their vote either at their own State or at Parliament, then they may do so at other State headquarters after intimating 96 hours before the poll.
