Imphal, July 29 2010:
Chief of Staff 3 Corps Maj Gen SS Pawar will bid adieu to the indian Army on July 31, 2010, said a PIB (DW) release that recounted the General Officer's 38 years of illustrious service to the Army having served in all terrains and theatres in varied commands both in the country and abroad.
Am alumni of National Defence Academy and the indian Military Academy, Maj Gen Pawar was commissioned in the JAT Regiment in March 1972 and among others commanded an infantry Brigade in a very active area of Jammu and Kashmir during OP Parakram, the PIB (DW) release added.
Conveying best wishes to the Maj Gen and his family, the release also informed that SS Pawar took over as the Chief of staff 3 Corps in 2008 .
