Ex-servicemen 'memorial stone' erected

The 20 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 26 Sector AR provided assistance to Thamlakhuren village in Chandel district on March 22 for a 'Memorial Stone Erection'.
According to a PRO IGAR (S) release, the memorial stone was erected in the memory of Honorary Captain Retd.Kh Rengting Lamkang who had served in the 1st Naga Regt.
Commander 26 Sector Assam Rifles Brig Rajiv Mankotia inaugurated the memorial stone and also paid homage..
During his interaction with locals of Thamlakhuren village, the Commander promised the villagers unstinted support of Assam Rifles towards the locals and ex-servicemen.
He also men- tioned that the ex-servicemen formed a very important part of the society and were a media to bring the security forces and locals closer to each other.
The ceremony was also attended by Rev J Simon, Pastor D Jamesing and other members of the village council.The unit also provided water and light refreshment on the request of the villagers.
