The People�s Union Liberation Front (PULF) has asked one Md Amu Goonda alias Nur Rahman (55) of lilong Chairen Makhong to hand over Rs 2.70 lakhs collected by Amu and his accomplices to the UG group and surrender within seven days.
In a statement issued by the PULF, Amu is accused of possessing sophisticated weapons and heading a gang of extortionists comprising of his sons and others.
Recalling a particular incident involving Amu and his accomplices, the statement contended that yesterday evening while the gang sters were extorting at Lilong area posing as PULF activists, infuriated locals cornered them which consequently led to Amu opening fire.
Lamenting that a local public leader - Md Achouba sustained injuries, the PULF also clarified that neither Amu or the firing incident is related to the organisation.
