As part of the steps being taken up to curb the activities of jail inmates and more particularly the underground activists who are allegedly operating from inside the jail where they are being lodged, the State Government today deported 8 more NSA detainees from Central Jail, Sawija to Jodhpur Central Jail in Rajasthan.
The 8 NSA detainees namely Salam Iboyaima alias Boyai, Nongthombam Ratan, Wahengbam Ichalsingh, Abung Meitei alias Ibomcha, K Inaobi alias Johnson, B Naocha alias Bokpai, Chirom Tiken alias Premkumar and W Dilip alias Pamel were deported in a special flight of BSF early morning today.
It may be noted that some months earlier four inmates from Sawija Jail have also been deported to Tihar Jail in New Delhi.
On the other hand, MI Khan of PULF who had been taken for medical treatment and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail is likely to be brought back to Imphal.
