Imphal, January 11 2015:
Alleging that rampant corruption has become a defining character of the incumbent Government, CPI Manipur State Council has asserted that there is no governance in the State at the moment.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the 42nd local conference of CPI Kumbi Local Council at Meitei Shanglen, Kumbi Terakha today, CPI Manipur State Council secretary Dr M Nara said that the Congress Government has hooked people's daily life to corruption.
It's time for the electorates to ponder and replace the rotten Congress regime with a new people-friendly and progressive Government.
The Government has been leading many youths on the wrong path as results of several recruitment exams have not been declared although huge amounts were taken from the prospective candidates in the name of recrui- ting them against different posts in Home Department, Dr Nara said.
Rampant corruption promoted by the Congress Government has landed Manipur in total anarchy.
Rather than appointing competent and qualified candidates, different posts in Fire Services are being sold at huge price tags according to the grades of the posts.
The Government has been giving a free hand to all the Ministers to send out their agencies to collect money for appointment in different Government departments.
Lack of transparency during recruitment against diffe- rent posts in Home Department has become a demora- lizing factor for many youth to choose the wrong path, Dr Nara asserted.
The wrongdoings of the incumbent Government can be corrected only through electoral politics.
It's crucial for all the electorates to study and analyse politics as politics cannot be skipped during election of people's representatives who would ultimately take all political decisions on behalf of all the people.
Intrusion by many wealthy people into electoral politics and governance by using the mask of social workers has accelerated the political downfall of Manipur.
It's time for the electorates to take a firm and collective pledge to overthrow the Congress regime.
Asserting that BJP State unit changes its mind every now and then, Dr Nara maintained that such a party can never bring stable Government in the State.
A draft report on development programmes undertaken during the period of former Minister N Mangi under his local area development fund was released at the conference.
N Mangi read out an 18-point resolution of the local conference and all the resolutions were unanimously passed by the gathering.
One of the resolution was execution of the left out components of Khuga Multipurpose Project so that farmers can reap maximum benefits out of the project.
Implementation of the Food Security Act and renovation of RLI canals were some other resolutions of the local conference.
