The Ministry of Urban Development today sanctioned 17 new schemes amounting to Rs 116.019 crore for the benefit of North Eastern Region and Sikkim.
Of the total provision of Rs 114 crore for the current financial year, an amount of Rs 78.727 crore has been released for schemes which will executed by the NBCC or the State Governments, an official release said here.
The new projects will include providing gravity water supply in Nagaland expected to cost Rs 15.118 crore, construction of a shopping complex in Sikkim and Manipur amounting to Rs 14.890 crore and Rs 22.14 crore respectievely and a storm water drainage scheme in Assam amounting to Rs 13.674 crore.
Funds have been allocated for upgradation of road network in Arunachal Pradesh, construction of a market complex in Nagaland and an electric crematorium in Meghalaya.
