The Thangjam Manorama death inquiry commission headed by retired district and Sessions Judge C Upendra has today intimated to the 17 Assam rifles authorities to furnish names of personnel who carried out the operation in arresting Manorama on the adjoining night of July 10 and 11.A notice to this effect addressed to the 17 AR Commanding Officer was issued today by the secretary of the Commission, said a highly placed panel source.
It asked the CO to furnish the list to the Commission by 11 am tomorrow.
"It appears that the Commission has good and sufficient reason to believe that without your help and from your source, it would be difficult to know the names of the commander and troopers who joined the operation to arrest Manorama," the probe panel mentioned in its notice.
The irilbung police station OC who attended the Commission�s session today was asked to place progress report of the FIR case registered against the killing of Manorama and the post mortem report within tomorrow.
Informing that the OC nodded positively to the panel�s directive the source said along with the post mortem report the police officer expressed confidence of filing the affidavit before the Commission within tomorrow�s dateline.
Meanwhile, manorama�s mother Thang- jam Khumanleima and younger brother Th Dorendro and representatives of women bodies of bamon kampu area also attended the Commissions session yesterday.
They all agreed to file their respective affidavits, it said adding that examination of witnesses would start soon after receiving the affidavits.
