Imphal, May 29 2014:
The Naga People's Front (NPF) Manipur state has seriously viewed the statement of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba Singh which appeared in some local dailies saying NPF was neither an alliance of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) before election nor was there any discussion of joining the alliance post-election.
"The NPF being an alliance party of NDA has been known to the public from the beginning.
Chaoba Singh's statement would not be taken lightly by the NPF Manipur state.
Chaoba, who frequently changes party loyalty and is a power-hungry man, has crossed his limit," a press statement issued by the NPF Manipur State Secretary, Athuan Abonmai said.
Rejecting outrightly as baseless and unfounded charges levelled against NPF Manipur of allegedly committing maximum rigging through proxy voting with the help of NSCN (IM) activists in 103 polling stations during recently concluded 16th Lok Sabha election in II Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency, the NPF said Chaoba is acting as a congress spokesman because whatever he speaks both in the public and party-level has been influenced by Congress-I, which is not a new phenomenon.
The charismatic and dynamic leader like Neiphiu Rio will never be dwarfed by propagation of irrelevant statement by non-other than Chaoba.
"We also remind the people not to be misguided by such communal, ill-minded man overtook by jealousy on tall leader like Neiphiu Rio who thinks for not only his Nagaland state, but also the entire Northeastern region," it said.
In the entire North Eastern region, only few leaders show concerns for the entire region whereas many so-called leaders have concentrated only for their personal interest, it said while urging the public to guard themselves against such pseudo-leaders.
"The NPF Manipur would like to advise Chaoba to introspect his party's performance in Manipur state instead of poking his nose on other party which may create more confusion and bring social and political chaos instead of bringing peace and development in the region," it said.
The NPF Manipur state will always work in the larger interest of the downtrodden and discriminated people, the NPF pledged while seeking the cooperation of the public, affirmed Athuan Abonmai.
