Seminar on Science for future underway

A Two-Day Seminar on Science for Shaping the Future of India organised by Manipur University in association with Indian Science Congress Association Manipur Chapter commenced from today at the Senate Hall of the University with its Vice Chancellor Prof HNK Sarma as Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof HNK Sarma said that hard work and perseverance is the only key to a successful future and youths of today should shape their own future with hard works for the welfare of the society.
Pointing out that Indian Science Congress Association, which was established in 1914, has not more than 30,000 scientists, Prof HNK Sarma expressed hope that opening of Manipur Chapter of the Association and organizing such seminar would benefits the students and future generation to a great extent.
Manipur University used to organise Manipur Science Congress from 1989 till 1999.So, the University is planning to revive the programme and organise the science congress from next year onwards, he informed.
General Secretary of Indian Science Congress Association Prof Vijay Laxmi Saxena presided over the inaugural function.
Former Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof C Amuba; Convener of ISCA Manipur Chapter Prof Arunkumar, Prof Ashok Saxena, Dr Manoj Chakraborty and Dr Asha Gupta were also among those who were present at the dais.
Chief Guest Prof HNK Sarma released a souvenir to mark the occasion.
Meanwhile, a Seven-Day Mini Mathematics Training and Talent Search Programme organised by Mathematics Department of Manipur University also commenced today at Mathematical Science Building with an aim to provide opportunities and knowledge of Number Theory, Foundation of Set Theory, Real Analysis and Linear Algebra to students of BA, BSc, BE and B Tech.
Dean of School of Mathematical and Physical Science MU Prof RK Gupta, Prof KS Bhamra of Mathematics Department, MU and President of Manipur Mathematical Society H Jayentakumar graced the inaugural function as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Prof M Ranit was also present at the occasion.
