Imphal, March 24 2009:
The JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Dr Th Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen has today declared the NSCN (IM) as a terrorist organisation.
Speaking to media persons at Nagamapal here today, the JAC observed that the Government of Manipur has failed to punish the culprits involved in the brutal murder of the three employees.
On the other hand, the NSCN (IM) has been keeping the culprits in its custody instead of handing them over to the Government.
This is against the wish of the people, the JAC functionaries asserted.
After the NSCN (IM) admitted that the cadres involved in the gruesome murder of Kishan, Token and Rajen were its cadres, the group sought four day's time to book the culprits.
Then they took another 15 days to come to a judgement regarding the shocking murder.
Even after the expiry of these periods, the NSCN (IM) has failed to spell out any form of punishment to the murderers.
This compelled the JAC to set a deadline of 48 hours to punish the culprits.
But even after 60 hours, the rebel group has failed to spell out any punishment for the culprits courting itself to be labelled as a terrorist organisation, the JAC functionaries said.
JAC convenor Kapu disclosed that they would not raise any objection to any agitation that may be launched in pursuit of befitting punishment to the culprits under the law of the land.
nThe JAC would also be launching different forms agitation to bring justice.
As a part of the renewed agitation, women members of the JAC threw out two phaneks (ladies' lower garments) at the gate of the Chief Minister's official residence today.
The women further said that more phaneks would be thrown at the residential gates of all the MLAs.
