General Secretary (North East in-charge) of All India Youth Congress, Nyamar Karbak who is on tour in Imphal today said that a convention of the Youth Congress will be held in Manipur at the earliest.
President of the All India Youth Congress, Rahul Gandhi will also take part in the proposed youth convention of the party, he said speaking to reporters here at a press conference held at Congress Bhavan, Imphal.
Youth congress under the leadership of its president Rahul Gandhi is planning to take up various developmental programmes, Karbak said adding saying that appointment of MLA Prithivraj as president of the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress by Rahul called up him directly in New Delhi is the first instant of its kind.
Apart from this, youth congress is in the moot of holding the convention in Imphal, he reiterated adding that unemployment problems, HIV/AIDS menace will be the main subjects to be discussed in the convention.
The general secretary arrived here in connection with the handing over of the charge of president of MPYCC to Prithivraj and appointment of officer bearers of the committee.
Newly MPYCC president MLA M Prithivraj who also attended the media briefing observed that unemployment problem is an issue of the country.
It will not be possible to give employment to all of them.
The youth congress however took the problems arising out of unemployment seriously.
In the state too, "Am-Admi Sipoy" of the youth congress will be launched within the next three to four months to keep close vigilant on the implementation of flagship programmes like the NREGS, SSA and RTI ect., he announced saying that it is one of the first work to be translated into action by the MPYCC.
A website for the youth congress will also be launched at the earliest, he added.
