The Government has set July 2011 as the completion target for the High Court complex being constructed as a part of Capitol Project.
This was stated by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi during an inspection tour of the ongoing construction work of the High Court complex at Mantripukhri today.
The Chief Minister also inspected the existing complex of Gauhati High Court.
Notably, foundation stone for the High Court complex was laid by the then Chief Justice of India, Justice YK Sabarwala in the presence of Chief Minister O Ibobi on April 30, 2006 .
The State PWD is the nodal agency while Simplex Concrete Piles (India) Limited Kolkata is the work agency of the High Court complex.
Design Academy, Bangalore is the architectural consultant of the complex.
After observing work progress of the construction, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction to the Minister concerned and officials.
During the inspection tour, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Works Minister K Ranjit, IFCD Minister N Biren, Advocate General Koteshwar, Judges and senior advocates.
Speaking to media persons at the work site, Ibobi said that the Govt has set July next year as the target to complete the High Court complex.
Coming back to Khwairamband Keithel, the Chief Minister also attended an invocation ceremony of the market deity at the three newly constructed market complexes inaugurated recently by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
