The body of Mayengbam Bungthoi alias Naoba s/o Ibochou of Khagempalli Panthak who was awarded capital punishment by RPF for murdering an 8-year old boy was picked up by the police from Lilong Shantipur at around 7 am today and kept at the mortuary of RIMS Hospital as no body has come forward to claim the same.
In a statement the Officer-in-Charge of Irilbung Police Station, Inspector Y Dhananjay Singh said the body with multiple bullet injury marks was picked up and kept at the RIMS morgue for identification.
The descriptions of the body are white complexion, oval face, 5 feet and 4 inches tall and clad in white colour shirt and black corduroy trousers.
If no one comes forward to identity/claim the body within 12 pm of March 16, the same would be given for disposal as per the order of the DM, Imphal East, the police added.
