The KNO/KNA has relaxed its proposed indefinite bandh along Imphal-Ukhrul road till Jun 16 .
Speaking to The Sangai Express, KNO/KNA Information secretary, Rex Kuki said the bandh has been relaxed following appeals from several civil society organisations.
Representatives of various civil society organisations like the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong, TSL, TNL, KSO Ukhrul, Kuki Inpi Ukhrul went to the the KNO/KNA designated Sinai Camp and met the KNA leaders, he said.
Meanwhile, Rex Kuki said the outfit would not however tolerate the ploy to create communal discord.
At the same time, various Tangkhul bodies like TKS, TNL and TSL have appreciated the initiative of Kuki civil society bodies in responding the issue.
It may be mentioned that cadres of NSCN-IM reportedly assaulted some cadres of KNO at Mahadev Lamkhai along Imphal-Ukhrul road and confiscated some weapons on Saturday.
On the other hand, The CAO of Wung Tangkhul Region, GPRN has denied any responsibility in the matter.
"We claim no responsibility, we are free from such petty exercise.
It is very unfortunate that such wild allegation pursuing communal line will bear no good result for the larger community in the State.
It will rather impair peaceful co- existence in the long run," a WTR's CAO statement said.
