Imphal, November 09 2010:
With the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Union Ministry of Petroleum giving their respective nod, transportation of petroleum products to Imphal along National Highway 39 with escort service by CRPF has resumed from today.
According to information received from the Divisional Office of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at Imphal, 30 empty oil tankers have been escorted by CRPF from Imphal today morning.

CRPF resumed its escort service from today following instructions from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Union Ministry of Petroleum, said the source, adding the escort party which had accompanied the empty oil tankers till Mao have escorted back loaded oil tankers coming from Khatkhati to Imphal.
At present, there are around 30 loaded tankers at Khatkhati which are waiting for escort, the source said, adding that CRPF has made it clear that they cannot provide escort to oil tankers if the fleet is less than 30 .
