Red Shield Division has carried out many MCA (Military Civic Action) activities in Manipur to win hearts and minds of peoples under Op Sadbhavana.
The latest one is providing educational, sports and living infrastructure to the Orphanage at Leimakhong.
The orphanage at Leimakhong housing 24 children, both boys and girls from age group of 03 to 13 years belonging to diverse ethnicities, hailing from CC Pur, Kangpokpi, Saikul, Tamenglong, Ukhrul, etc, is run purely on voluntarily contribution from general public, churches and local Army Units.
The Red Shield Division under Op Sadbhavana has procured computers, sewing machines, study tables, solar lamps, chairs, blankets, mosquito nets, water purifiers, key board synthesizer, DVD player and other items.
All these items were distributed to children of the Hope Baptist Children's Home by Maj Gen DS Hooda, GOC, Red Shield Division at a simple ceremony organized at 183 Military Hospital premises at Leimakhong today.
The ceremony was witnessed by Military and local civil dignitaries.
