The Secular Progressive Front Government will give priority on development of basic amenities like road-ways, education, health and sanitation system in the State from the 2004-05 plan allocation, said Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
Talking to some reporters at the sideline of the reception programme of newly elected MLA of Konthoujam Assembly Constituency Dr S Budhichandra today at Congress Bhavan, the Chief Minister said that the sectorial allocation of the Plan has laid stress on upgrading the basic necessities.
The sectoral allocation of the Rs 781 crore plan size would be completed within October 20 and immediate attention would be given to enhance surface communication, besides stress on education, health and sanitation sectors, added the CM.
He also informed that other important sectors like improving the power scenario and social welfare projects would be high on the Government priority in addition to concerted effort to complete the Thoubal dam and Khuga project.
On the agitation against the AFSPA, Ibobi said that no intimation has been received from the Centre to join in the proposed talks between Delhi and the Apunba Lup, which is spearheading the agitation.
Commerce and Industries Minister N Mangi applauded the Centre on appointing RK Phalguni as the Special Advisor in the Home Ministry as such a move indicates that the Government of India is taking keen interest on matters concerning the State.
