Imphal, October 29 2010:
Unidentified armed persons lobbed a hand-grenade inside the office of MOBC located along Governor Road of Paona Bazar, which is a high security zone area, today morning.
The bomb, however, did not explode.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 11 am today.
Though the reason behind the bomb attack and the group responsible are yet to be ascertained, police suspected that it may be related to extortion demand.
On the other hand, unidentified armed persons also lobbed another hand grenade inside the residential compound of special contractor Thokchom Nodiachand Singh at Thangmeiband Lourung-purel Leikai on the night of October 28 .

The bomb was detected by the family members early morning today.
In protest against the bomb threat, womenfolk of the locality staged a Wakat Meepham today.
In connection with the incident, Nodiachand said that it may be related to the percentage cut and the work order demands of the UG groups.
Informing that the incident has created fear among the family members and the local people alike, Nodiachand said that his grandchildren have become even hesitant to to attend school.
One of the women protestors who participated in the Wakat Meepham demanded the UG group responsible to come up with an explanation on the bomb attack.
