Following the recent State Cabinet decision on issuing pattas to the land of the Government offices and evict encroachers, the Revenue Department to whom the task has been entrusted has directed all the Government Departments to furnish the details of their respective land latest by May 31 .
Issuing an office memorandum in this regard yesterday, Chief Secretary Rakesh said that as many Government Departments/offices do not have the land belonging to the Department/office properly recorded in the name of the Department/office in the land records, it has resulted in encroachments on the Government land by unauthorised persons.
So taking all relevant aspects into consideration, the State Government has decided that all the Government land belonging to the State Government Department/office shall be properly recorded in the land records/pattas.
Accordingly all Government Departments are to furnish the details of land of the Department to the Deputy Commissioner concerned or to the Directorate of Settlement and Land Records as the came may be under intimation to the Revenue Department so that the relevant land records are updated and pattas are made in the name of the Department.
The office memorandum further said that any unauthorised person/organisation encroaching upon the Governmentt land shall be evicted with due process of law and the Department concerned and the Deputy Commissioners will ensure eviction of the encroachers within three months while the DGP will provide necessary security in this regard.
