Even though the Manipur State Power Development Corporation is yet to begin operations, it has been abolished by the State Cabinet today.
On the other hand, the Cabinet has given its approval to implementation of a scheme introduced by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs through which International funding can be sought.
Interacting with mediapersons in connection with the Cabinet meeting today evening, spokesperson of the SPF Government IFCD Minister N Biren informed that the decision to abolish the Manipur State Power Development Corporation has been adopted by a State Cabinet during a sitting presided by the Chief Minister today.
Along with abolition of the the Corporation which has existed only on paper, the Cabinet decided to implement the Easy Exit Scheme, 2011, which the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has introduced recently and through which International funding could be sought.
Accordingly, the Cabinet has also given its green signal to take up necessary measures in this regard, the spokesperson disclosed.
Among other agenda discussed during the meeting today, the spokesperson informed, the State Cabinet has also approved the demarcation of jurisdiction of Ward Development Committees of ward no.2 and 7 ahead of the election to the Imphal Municipal Council as well as the polling area of polling station no 25/1-FM College of Arts and Commerce and Polling station no.8/5-Naharol Welfare Club, Kangabam Leikai.
With regard to direct appointment of 15 Supervisors under ICDS in Social Welfare Department, the Cabinet meeting decided to except it from the purview of MPSC.
Moreover, today's Cabinet meeting has given its approval to appointment of an Account Officer in MANIREDA on contract basis for a period of one year as well as to appointment of one Legal Consultant in the Manipur Information Commission.
In addition to increasing the Bomb Hazard allowances of the State Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, the Cabinet has also okayed increasing the ration money of the Manipur Fire Service Dept to Rs 1000 from Rs 485 as well as that of the Jail personnel on parity with Police/MR/IRB, the spokesperson disclosed, adding that the approval has also been given to extension of full pension benefit to all the pensioners/family pensioners who retired from service within January 1, 2006 .
