Imphal, June 30 2014:
MPCC president and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has categorically stated that BJP just like Aam Admi Party, is very good in rhetoric but they are incapable of executing what they have been preaching.
Gaikhangam was speaking at the release function of "A Report of compilation book of workshop on Mahila Congress cum Mass Enrolment and Re-constitution of Office Bearers and Executive Members" at Congress Bhavan today.
Even though BJP announced before the whole country to execute a number of projects/schemes within 100 days, the NDA Government is not in a position fulfil its own promises.
What BJP has done since assuming power is hiking prices of petroleum products and increasing railway fare on an unprecedented scale.
A strong voice of disapproval has rung out from different corners of the country after the NDA Government came up with the decision that Hindi should be taught compulsorily across the country.
BJP's agenda of sweeping the country's electorate with a promise of bringing dramatic changes in the country has now been exposed.
But BJP's promises are just empty promises, Gaikhangam asserted.
The NDA Government has been pursuing many inappropriate foreign policies which has only resulted in increased hostility with the neighbouring countries.
Governance is not some cake-walk.
One may talk impressively but the most difficult part is translating them into action.
Gaikhangam said he thought the BJP-led NDA Government may last at least 10 years but it now certain it would not last any longer than five years.
The MPCC president appealed to all Mahila Congress members to take pro-active roles in further strengthening the party even though Congress suffered a humiliating defeat in the last Parliamentary election.
Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee president RK Ranisana said that out of the 60 blocks of Manipur, Block Mahila Congress Committee for 53 blocks were set up thereby bolstering the party substantially.
The Mahila Congress also organised many awareness programmes on crimes against women, food security Act, women empowerment etc.
Names and other details of the members of seven Mahila Congress Blocks left out from the compilation released today would be added in the second edition, she added.
