The bandh imposed since yesterday in condemnation of the killing of three persons by the Imphal East Police commandos on October 25 at Imphal continued today in Churachandpur.
Elsewhere in the other hill districts the bandh called by KSO and other student bodies affected normal lives and bus services.
At Moreh shops downed shutters and vehicles to and from the border town stayed off the road.
Goods and passenger vehicles plying on NH-39 had to be provided security escorts, adds our State Reporter at Imphal.according to late reports, suspected agitation supporters damaged three tourist buses at kangpokpi area.
sit-in-protest was also staged at New Lambulane to denounce the killing.
At Churachandpur the bandh was observed in total and all shops and institutions remained closed and vehicles also stayed off the road for the second day.
Bandh supporters put up road blocks around Tuibuong area and one reserved bus bound for Meghalaya was damaged in the morning.
The bus (MN O1/1514) was carrying about 40 people, mostly women who were going for a Presbyterian Women�s Fellowship conference to be held at Nongpyndeng, Meghala-ya.
Sources said that the bandh volunteers destroyed the windscreen of the bus even as the passengers showed them the pass issued to them by the KSO leaders.
