A massive public rally was taken out this morning at Kamjong Bazar in Ukhrul district to protest the indifferent attitude of the district administration.
The protest demonstration organised under the aegis of Kamjong Development Committee also strongly denounced the alleged indifferent attitude of the district administration to the October 13 incident in which Myanmarese army crossed over the border and picked up two persons from Molvailuk village.
One of the persons was killed and the body later buried while the other has been remaining traceless although the Myanmarese army claimed to have set him free alive.
The person who has been buried was identified as Vareisim Zimik (36) of Nungou village under Shangshak Police Station while the other whom the Myanmarese army claimed to have set free but still remains traceless is one Ningmayo alias Sanajaoba Keishing of Nambisi village under Kasom Khullen Police Station.
Meanwhile, Youth Athletics Union, Thoubal Kshetri Leikai, Tomjing Makhong and All Kshetri Leikai Women Development Association, in a joint statement, have appealed to all concerned for the safe release of Sanajaoba from their custody, if he is being held captive.
According to the joint statement, Sanajaoba s/o of Sanasam Sarat Singh and grandson of Sanasam Nongyai of Thoubal Kshetri Leikai Tomjing Makhong is an innocent person who grew up at Kshetri Leikai.
