Imphal, October 16:
To press forward its demand for removal of Adimjati Shiksha Ashram president and reconstitute the Ashram's board members All College Tribal Students' Organisation Manipur (ACTSOM) in collusion with other tribal student bodies today closed the Ashram office.
Speaking to media persons today, ACTSOM president ML Haokip said no one will be allowed to enter the Ashram premise with immediate effect until and unless their demands are conceded to.
The student bodies have been pursuing the demands for removal of the Ashram's current president and reconstitution of the board members since January 14, 2000 but the same has failed to evoke positive response from Bharatiya Adimjati Sevak Shangha, iterated the ACTSOM president.
He also condemned the lack of initiative on the matter by the Ashram's Imphal Chairman, MP Rishang Keishing.
Referring to arrival of two members of the Sevak Shangha today, ML Haokip categorically stated the two would not be allowed to violate the restriction placed on the premises of the Ashram.
However, if they (members) are willing to hold talks to solve the impasse ACTSOM and other concerned bodies would endorse the proposal, he added.
