The Kangla declaration adopted during a public interface held at Kangla Hall here today in connection with the brutal killing of Kasom Khullen SDO Dr Th Kishan and his two staff has declared that the verdict of the 'so called court martial' of the NSCN (IM) is not at all acceptable to the JAC and the people of Manipur.
The five-point declaration adopted at the end of the interface demanded that Government of Manipur immediately take action to apprehend the murderers of Dr Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen and the culprit be put on trial under relevant sections of IPC.
Resolving that the ongoing movement for justice will go on till the murderers are punished in accordance to the law of the land, the declaration noted that at the same time initiatives from the hill-based social organisations to join the movement would be welcomed.
Demanding that the reports of the Inquiry Committee instituted by the Govt of Manipur into the incident be made public immediately, the Kangla declaration also pressed that all the official functionaries of the State Govt who were involved in the gruesome murder should be booked and criminal proceedings initiated against them.
Earlier, the public interface was held in two sessions with editor of Imphal Free Press Pradip Phanjaobam and Prof S Loken as moderators.
Prof Gangmumei Kamei, Prof Ksh Bimola Devi, Prof Soyam Lokendrajit, Prof AK Bimol, Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Dr Pardesi, Md Hakim Shah etc were among the resource persons who spoke at the interface.
