Family members rubbish AR's claim

Categorically refuting the claim of the Assam Rifles that of the three persons killed at Tingri on August 11 night, two of them were PULF cadres, family members of the two deceased said that one of them had surrendered to the Government and was awaiting to be inducted into the 1st MR as a Follower.
They were taken away by the Assam Rifles who were accompanied by one informer.
Speaking to newsmen today at the Manipur Press Club, the family members rubbished the claim of the Assam Rifles that they were PULF cadres and added that there was no way arms could have been recovered from them.
The two deceased are identified as Nasir Hussain alias Isir alias SK (33) of Khomidok Jama Masjid Maning and Md Ramesh (18) of Kairang Mamang Leikai.
Speaking to the reporters, Nasir's wife Sultana Begum said that her husband was a member of the Islamist Nationalist Front (INF) but he had surrendered with arms before DIG Rehman in July 2000.He was selected to be inducted as a Follower in the 1st MR, she contended.
Narrating her tale, Sultana said that personnel of 4 AR came to their residence on August 10 night.
The AR men were accompanied by a surrendered cadre, Izar alias Chisti, she said and added that Chisti has already got a job with the IRB and was in constant touch with the Assam Rifles.
The next day, Izar sent a friend of his, Motim, to their house and her husband left along with him.
At about 1 pm, Izar along with her husband returned home, said Sultana and added that Ramesh also accompanied them on a Hero Honda owned by Izar.
Later the three left saying that they have some work at Koirengei.
Nasir and Ramesh did not return home the night, said Sultana and added that the next morning the family members went to the rented room of Izar at Koirengei to inquire and met his wife.
When they again went to Koirengei today morning, they were informed that Izar along withhis wife had left the place, said Sultana.
Assam Rifles also informed that Izar was not with them.
Ramesh's father contended that his son had no connection with any armed outfit and added that he was a farmer.
The family members have registered a case with Heingang police and have urged the Government to trace Izar.
