Gaikhangam exhorts Kabuis to play big role

Imphal, May 13 2013:
Though Manipur is inhabited by different groups of people with different culture and tradition and followed different religions since time immemorial, all the people in the State are brothers and sisters, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who also holds the portfolio of Home, has exclaimed.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the memorial Stone Erection function of late Namshadai Gangmei, founder of Langthabal Khoupum at Langthabal Khoupum today.
Gaikhangam further stated that the people of Kabui tribe settling in the plain are able to live happily and peacefully because of the love and affection shown by the people of the plains.
As such, the Kabui people should play a big role in promoting love and brotherhood between the people in the hills and the plains.

He also appealed to the general public to be hard working and at the same time have the light of education to acquire knowledge.
"In this world of cut-throat competition, we all should be really hard working and well educated", Gaikhangam said.
Delivering the Presidential speech, MLA of Langthabal A/C Karam Shyam assured that he would press the government to construct a community hall at Langthabal village along with taking up a water supply scheme for the villagers.
The function was also attended by Dipu Gangmei, ADM Senapati as Guest of Honour.
Presentation of cultural dances marked the occasion.
