Imphal, May 11:
The 14th raising day of the People's United Liberation Front (PULF) was celebrated at a place in Chandel district today.
On the occasion, the outfit's General Secretary Ibrahim Kaji greeted the people and in a message to the people, Ibrahim noted that the all the people of Manipur belong to a common family.
He declared that PULF does not differentiate people on the basis of caste, religion or appearance.
Asserting that the outfit stands for unity, Ibrahim pledged that PULF's unbiased principle would safeguard the territorial integrity of the State.
He clarified that the PULF does not exist for a single community.
The executive head and the cadres in charge of the Home affairs are non-Manipuris while the project commander is a Meitei.
Just as other outfits are constituted by cadres belonging to different ethnic groups, PULF has also many cadres belonging to different communities, he asserted.
The outfit is standing firm with the vital support of the people for the complete liberation of the State, Ibrahim said.
The General secretary assured that PULF would make best efforts to avert any skirmishes with other UG groups even as some cases of clashes with other UG groups took place when the party was controlled by Azad and his cohorts and the outfit caught in an internal crisis.
A statement issued by the Chief of Army of the outfit while sharing the pain of cadres currently languishing in prisons, conveyed that the outfit has re-endorsed the path cherished by the patriots.
Clarifying that the party does not see anybody as its enemy, the Army Chief appealed to all concerned to lead PULF cadres in the right direction, forgetting past ill-feelings, if there was any.
He also conveyed gratitude to all those who contributed in making PULF what it is today.
Paying of homage to slain cadres and display of arms by PULF cadres were the main features of the raising day celebration.
