Imphal, October 31 2009:
The DESAM has appealed to guardians, parents, teachers, intellectuals, students and the general public to attend he public meeting it is organising on November 2 at BOAT in connection with the indefinite class boycott.
Asserting that neglecting education was totally wrong, a press issued by DESAM conveyed its conviction that protecting and promoting education can uplift Manipur at par with developed nations of the world.
All challenges to the society can be tackled only when students are given quality education.
"Depriving students of education amounts to stabbing ourselves", DESAM decried.
"By depriving students of education, we are only sowing seeds of a future society, far more worse than the present one", it asserted.
While undertaking a movement to tackle any challenge to the society, education, which is vital for grooming students who are again assets of the society, should not be disturbed, it added.
