Imphal, March 23: A joint meeting of mediapersons held at Manipur Press Club here today discussed the recent incident of snatching cameras from mediapersons by volunteers of Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Chandel district and the subsequent denial of the student body through a press statement.

The meeting strongly denounced the attempt of the student body to mislead the public in this connection.

After seriously deliberating on the matter, the media persons reiterated that the cameras were indeed confiscated by the volunteers of the student body and their subsequent denial and putting the blame on the mediapersons was nothing but malicious.

The mediapersons asserted that the charges levelled by the the student body that the reporters had replied in the negative when asked whether they were carrying cameras or not along with them was totally baseless.

The truth was that at that time, the mediapersons have replied that one of the cameras have been snatched by the bandh supporters.

The meeting also come out strongly against the allegation levelled against media of being bias in reporting and appealed to the student body not to resort to such false propaganda in future.
