As part of the military civic action programmes taken up by the 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of IG AR (S) in Samtal area, IG AR Maj AK Chaudhury flagged off an education tour at Pallel today, on the eve of Children's Day.

Altogether 20 children including 5 girls accompanied by three teachers from the villages of Sehlon, Phoilen, Wayang, Tuitong, Kovang, Old Samtal, Tuileng and Moljol will visit Imphal, Dimapur, Agra and Delhi during the tour, said a statement issued by the PRO of Assam Rifles today.
The flagging off ceremony was organised by 26 Sector and was attended by Brig Balbir Singh, DIG of 26 Sector, dignitaries from the district administration and media-persons.
While flagging off the tour, the IG exhorted the children to learn and enjoy themselves.
Commander of 26 Sector while interacting with the children emphasised on the importance of learning and widening their horizon while being on tour.
